When it comes to shopping habits Lagosians exhibit significant variation by age and gender. Well over half of all women purchase confectionary more than twice a week, compared to just one-third of men. Meanwhile, 90% of respondents aged 18-25 buy soft drinks more than twice a week, compared to two-thirds of those aged 46 or older.
Our new report, “How do Nigerians Shop? Lagos purchasing habits: what, where and when” which is based on 1,100 face-to-face interviews across Lagos, provides data and insight on consumption habits across a variety of sectors, including food and beverages, clothing, personal care, consumer electronics and household appliances, with findings segmented by age, gender, household income, family circumstances, and retail channel.
