Having successfully launched the concept in Casablanca, Carrefour franchisee Label’Vie brought the Carrefour Gourmet sub-banner to Rabat during September. Boasting such delicacies as lemon caviar, dwarf carrots, ground cherries and edible flowers, this store concept is squarely targeted at the upper end of the market.
Located in the upmarket Route des Zaërs, the Rabat outlet houses a number of “store-within-a-store” concepts, such as a fishmonger, an halal charcuterie, a sushi bar, an “urban kitchen” serving gourmet ready meals and a florist. The Carrefour Gourmet concept has already been launched in a number of Western European markets, and Label’Vie is planning to open a total of 12 Carrefour Gourmet stores in Morocco, with the next one set for Marrakech.
