Since 1911, German-brand, NIVEA, has been helping keep skin feeling great right across the world. This August, unchanged since July, the brand topped the leaderboard 🥇 for ‘good quality’ beauty and personal care brands in Cameroon in our SagaBrand polls. Pharmapur 🥈 and Biopharma 🥉 also made the top 3, ahead of Axe, Moby Bébé, Garnier, Yves Rocher, L’Oréal, Ushuaia and Sivoderm.
This is not the first time NIVEA has come out on top in our rankings across Africa – read our previous NIVEA success story here.
With the world’s hand-washing and hygiene standards spurred on by the pandemic, soap brand Pharmapur also did well, earning it’s silver position in the quality rankings despite being only the 5th best-known beauty & personal care brand within Cameroon.
In terms of awareness, NIVEA was the brand most-known by our panel, with 70% saying they were aware of the brand. 81% of these reported that the brand represents good quality, and just 2% thought it represented poor quality. In contrast, only 25% of respondents in Cameroon knew of Yves-Rocher, yet 63% thought of the brand as good quality bringing them up to 7th place in the rankings.
The results arrive from monthly surveys conducted through our mobile app, SagaPoll. A dedicated panel across Cameroon and other African countries complete surveys on a daily basis, sharing their opinions of brands, products, current affairs and more.
