Boosting agricultural productivity is seen by many as key to driving economic development across much of Africa, and Sagaci Research is currently researching this topic across a swathe of the continent for an agribusiness concern. This project builds on a similar study that we conducted for the same client in 2017.
This year’s study is examining such issues as crop cultivation, crop protection and road to market for 15 different crops across 14 countries. In addition to surveying more than 3,000 farmers, our local analysts are conducting desk research and expert interviews. Store checks, SKU mapping and interviews with retailers will also be conducted in order to ascertain the nature of the business relationships that exist between farmers, retailers and suppliers.
