The Ben Salem brothers, owners of Tunis-based Indigo Co. (the local franchisee for such retail brands as Zara, Mango, Massimo Duttti, and Celio), are set to break ground on Tunis Garden City mall before the end of this year. The mall will have a gross leasable area (GLA) of 60,000m2 and be accompanied by a hotel, offices, and housing. This development is due to be completed by the end of 2021.
Meanwhile, another Ben Salem project, the Mall of Sousse, is due to open this autumn. It will have a GLA of 62,000m2 and host a 10,000m2 Carrefour hypermarket. Located 140km south of Tunis, it will be the first mall outside of the capital with a GLA of more than 10,000m2.
