About Democratic Republic of Congo

The population of the Democratic Republic of Congo is distributed among urban clusters, particularly among the northeast counties, which border Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi and the largest city and capital of Kinshasa, located on the Congo River in the west. The south is sparsely populated. Kinshasa is the third-largest city in Africa, with an affluent area located in Ville Basse, the lowlands located around the river, with important real estate developments in the hills on the outskirts of the city.

The DRC has a rich mining sector, with abundant sources of copper, cobalt, gold, zinc, and diamond among a vast array of minerals. Additionally, agriculture is substantial, with very significant arable areas.

Why conduct market research in the Democratic Republic of Congo

DRC’s entry into the East African Community opens up a wide range of opportunities for economic development in the country and the region.

The DRC maintains fairly low human development, and there is a need for investment in the education and health care sector, especially in rural areas. Furthermore, the economy is presently overly unilaterally dependent on its extractive industries. This means that there are very real opportunities for investment and development in sectors such as banking and telecommunications, despite the low infrastructure.

Representative market data

As the DRC becomes more politically stable, and the business environment becomes more favorable with the new reforms in sight, it is important for your business to have access to reliable and up-to-date information about the marketplace.

The capital of Kinshasa, or the regions of Kantaga (Lubumbashi) or Kivu have vastly different consumption patterns. Coupled with limited transportation, completing a successful research project in DRC can prove very difficult.  This is why conducting accurate and representative market research in the Democratic Republic of Congo is instrumental to your success.

We at Sagaci Research are able to mobilize teams in each region that can capture the essence of each region of the country and provide you representative qualitative and quantitative data.
